Might need a 'get out of jail free' card

When the mail comes everyday, Josh or I will bring it in and I will sort through it. I put all the junkmail in the recycle bin and gather all of the bills and put them in my bill holder.

(cute huh?)

Then at some point I will go back and organize them by date. As the date gets closer, I will pay it. Yeah I'm not one of those that gets it in the mail then immediately pays it or gets it ready to be mailed off. The 'touch it once' rule doesn't work well for me.

Anyway, today I went through and organized them and planned on paying the ones due within the next couple of days.

So, I opened one and immediately began silently freaking out over the large passed due balance that caught my eye. My mind starts racing and I'm like what the heck happened?!? This is impossible. No way this is right. It took a few seconds before I realized that I should stop worrying about what had gone wrong and check out who this freaking thing belonged to. "Oh luck, please don't fail me now"as I made that glance. Just as I was hoping to find, the name on the front was neither Josh's nor mine. Whew......then.........Eeeeeek!

I hurriedly put the bill back in its envelope and threw it on the table next to me that is more than an arm length away.

What do I do now? I've just opened someone else's mail. Usually I'll just put stuff with other people's names on it in the junkmail pile for recycling. But I can't do that this time. This is a bill that obviously needs some serious tending to. But if I give it to them, they'll know that I opened it and, honest mistake or no, that's illegal. Yikes!

So after calming down a bit and weighing my options, I have decided (with the help of a favorite friend) to tape it up, put a nice little note on it about how this accidentally was put in our mailbox and without double checking and rechecking who it belonged to prior to opening the little booger...it got opened, then put it in the correct mailbox and hopefully be done with it.

Dear God,
I just ask that you provide our dear neighbors with a little more compassion today than others to keep them from sending me to jail.
Thanks and love ya :)

hmmmm

sweet and cute in a cuddly, lazy kinda way?

or depressed?

not sure. wouldn't it be so much cooler if they could talk?

hello again

Once you get away, it's hard to come back. Where do I begin?

Spring break happened and we did get some things done to the house!
1. painted our guest room (see wall color in picture)

2. changed the lighting in both of the bathrooms
3. finally put up decorations

Spring semester ended......thank God! And I am very proud to say that I got a 4.0 with 19 hours!! There were several times I was sure that I would not be able to get through it so I have no idea how I managed to pull that off. But I checked and rechecked and it's still there! So my lips are sealed. The one time I won't be asking any questions :)

I have spent the last couple of weeks traveling.

Josh and I drove one weekend to Lubbock to attend the commencement ceremonies of our dear friend, Anthony.........well I should say Dr. Anthony now. He graduated with his Doctorate in Medicine AND a Master's in Business Administration. He is one of 4 in the country to have accomplished this. We are so proud of him and were honored to be a part of it.

We returned on a Sunday and I left that following Tuesday morning for Arkansas (Eureka Springs) to visit my sister. We got to spend time with her and my awesome little nephew! It was a great time :)

I got back that Saturday and left again Sunday with Josh for East Texas to spend the Memorial day weekend at the lake! Josh's aunt has a beautiful house on the lake and it's always so peaceful and relaxing!

And that concludes the traveling and brings us current!

I have saved the best news for last!! WE'RE HAVING A BABY :) Due Thanksgiving Day!

Easter Sunday - 3rd pregnancy test positive (The first 2 weren't convincing enough)
March 24 - blood test confirmed pregnancy
May 14 - first real doctor's appointment. Heard the heartbeat for the first time (163) and breathed our first sigh of relief.

I am now in my 14th week and the baby is about the size of a lemon! Everything seems to be going well. I have my next appointment June 18 and will hopefully be able to breathe our second sigh of relief!

Josh and I are really, super-duper excited! We are so thankful and just feel so blessed! This will be our first human child!

bye for now.
