tonight

CeCe yells MAMA over and over again after we lay her down. She probably wants another baby or animal to be put in her bed, to add to the other 20 that are already in there.

I try not to go in there because I feel like she's making a habit out of it....

After about 5 minutes of this, we hear JESSICA ALLEN....JESSICA ALLEN....JESSICA ALLEN.

I laughed and then gave in. She's too good.

fina'11y

Well, I am now officially a University of North Texas Alumni!  Man, that sounds so nice.

Wow, I can't believe this day has finally come.  It has been 11 years in the making and I feel very happy and relieved.   Now that I am almost 30, I feel like I can move on and life can really begin.  That's a great feeling :)

Last night, we celebrated at Two Rows in Allen.  Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Eddie treated us, close friends and family, to a wonderful dinner and a fun night.

A few pictures of the girls playing together!

Baine Brooks, owner of Two Rows, fixin' up his specialty, Baine's Brownie Explosion.

My wonderful college friend, Tandy.

Nanny and her grandbabies

My brother and his family

Josh and Dwayne

Aunt Bonnie, Alyssa, and CeCe

Our [fairly new] and awesome friends, Lori and Nolan

Our saving graces, Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Eddie

PawPaw and Anna

My family, minus my two sisters (missed y'all)

And then today was the ceremony.  I fought back tears several times.  I was just so happy to have finally finished this thing I have worked really hard on for a really long time.

Back stage

Josh took video of me walking across the stage and I wanted to capture the image but I can't get the file converted to be able to use it.

And here I am leaving!  YAY!!

Greeted by my parents, sister and brother afterward!

At the reception.

To all of my family and friends that have supported, encouraged, and offered help throughout this journey, I am forever indebted to you.  Without you watching the girls while I had class, helping us financially, giving me study materials for my certification tests, offering advice, giving me rides to denton, loaning us a vehicle when we only had one to get back and forth to school,  and just simply telling me how proud you are of me, none of this would have been possible.

And to my husband who was willing to come on this adventure with me and see me through it, who worked several jobs to provide for our family while I was in school, who never complained or made me feel guilty when all of the money that he worked so hard for was gone before getting to spend any of it on himself, who helped me with my homework when I had no brain left, who stayed positive, encouraging, inspiring and gave me strength, and for just being my number one fan, you are my rock, and I feel so blessed and lucky to have you by my side, I am in awe of you and am so very grateful. I look forward to our life without school (with more money!) and I feel like we're just getting started (all over again).
I love you.

Vivi ~ 11 months

Wow. How can it be that we are one month away from having a one year old (again!)? I really have no idea where the time went. I haven't even had a chance to think about her party, much less plan for it. I better get on that.

Boy do we have our hands full! Vivi is so sweet and happy and cuddly. But man does this girl have an att.i.tude!  Or is it just her being strong willed?!  When she and CeCe go back in forth about something, Vivi sure can hold her own.  I can just imagine what it will be like when she starts talking.

She can be is a screamer.  And she is loud!  When I say screamer, it's not that she just 'talks' loudly... even though she does plenty of that too.  But she squeals.  This is different for us.  CeCe never did that.  Not even when she would get excited.  When we just had CeCe, we would be around friend's kids that would do that loud, screeching noise out of the blue and it would literally scare the heck out of me.  I thought for sure someone got hurt or something.  And then I'd look around and they'd be smiling.  It got my nerves all in a hissy.  And now I have one of 'em!  We'll be sitting at the dinner table and we can hardly hear ourselves talk.  I have got to figure something out because I'm not sure I can handle it much longer!

She is a helper.  She helps with the laundry. She will put things in a basket...after she had just taken it all out. She likes to close the dryer door while I'm putting clothes in it. She helps with the dishes. She'll grab a (dirty) fork and run away with it...laughing. She picks things up off of the floor and hands it to me (after putting it in her mouth first).  She also cleans up during clean up time.  Her favorite is putting the blocks back in their box.

She imitates.  She can mimic sounds and gestures.  It's really funny annoying when she's trying to climb on the fireplace and I say "eh, eh, no ma'am"  and she looks back at me with a smile and says "eh, eh" while putting her leg on it.

She eats....a lot.  Lord does this girl eat.  Sometimes, more than me.  I'm not sure where it all goes.  Well maybe I do, since she has at least 3-4 poops daily.  Anything we give her, it's gone.  I hope that doesn't ever change.  I hope that rubs off on her sister one day :)  She drinks out of a straw now too, which makes things much easier at times.

Vivi points to things that she wants and things she recognizes as hers.  She is very interactive and understands a lot of what we say.

She is following in her sister's footsteps and developing a love for shoes!  She will bring her shoes over, sit down, and put her feet up to help put them on.  Good thing we have a lot of hand-me-downs!

She is a soother.  She has a minnie mouse lovey that she cuddles with and uses a paci when she sleeps. She would walk around with the lovey all day if she could.

She's playful.  She loves other babies.  And just like CeCe she can be dropped off at 'school' or church and she hits the ground running looking for someone to play with or something to get in to.

She is busy, busy!  Non-stop activity around our house.  And definitely a talker.  She loves talking on the phone, especially to her daddy.  She will go on and on!

She greets us as fast as her little legs can go, she's ready and willing to give hugs.

As the days go by and Vivi becomes more independent, things are getting easier and easier.  I love the relationship she and CeCe have and I know it will only get stronger.  I feel so blessed to be a mom to two sweet girls.

5th Anniversary Celebration

With this year being our 5th anniversary and since we haven't had a real vacation since our honeymoon, we originally planned to go big and travel abroad somewhere. But with our goal of working toward being debt free, we decided to reallocate the funds and plan a budget friendly staycation! All we wanted to do was relax, and we thought we could do that anywhere. So we headed to East Texas to our favorite local getaway.

We arrived late Thursday night and pretty much unpacked and went to bed.

Friday morning...

...we ate breakfast here...

...and then drove into Tyler to see a movie. After the movie, I had scheduled to get a haircut and a mani/pedi here...

This year, I decided to keep the length and go with some long layers. My usual haircut routine is to get it cut short and then let it grow out until I get sick of it and cut it short again.

After pic...
While I was doing that, Josh headed back to lake to fish.

Downtown Ben Wheeler...

We had an early dinner here...

Dessert...yummy.

Finished off the night with a movie and a glass of wine.

Saturday morning breakfast. Staying true to form, there isn't just orange juice in those glasses :)

Sunday, Josh's mom and aunt celebrated their big 50! They had a huge party planned Saturday night so we joined in the fun!

Double Trouble at about 5 years old...

Lookin' good at 50 :)

Sunday was our day to just lay around and relax. We did get out that afternoon to go to lunch at the bakery, as the final birthday activity.

Josh fished some and I worked on putting a slideshow together of the birthday bash!

Monday, our last day, we slept in and then ate lunch at the bakery (again!) on our way out.

The Treehouse. This was our home during our stay!

This trip was much needed and very satisfying. It wasn't possible without the help of the Lloyd family and my mom for watching the girls while we were gone. And of course Bonnie and Eddie for making it all happen for us by providing the house and the best hospitality.

After 5 years, I couldn't be happier getting to spend each day with such a loving man that provides so much for me and our family. To me, our marriage, our relatioship, has been all I could have ever imagined one should be. Solid. Easy. Safe. Comfortable. Full of laughter. Sweet. Friendly. Passionate. Unwavering.
I just think about how fast these first 5 years have come and gone and I'm so excited about what is to come for us. We have a lot to look forward to and I couldn't be more proud of who I get to share and experience it all with. Love my husband :)
