Today our little girl turned 2! With all of the horror stories I've heard about two year olds... the tantrums, the fits, the NOs, the MINEs, I WANTS, and the need for POWER and INDEPENDENCE, we thought "Oh yeah, no problem. We can handle that." Well we weren't exactly right but we weren't exactly wrong either. We have definitely seen well enough of all of that from our sweet, adorable, precious, CeCe girl. But as much as that is VERY trying at times, it makes me so proud of her. She's growing up into strong, independent, confident, and beautiful little girl.

She loves school. There have been several times when we've gone to pick her up in the afternoon and she didn't want to leave. She is learning so much through play, activities, computer games, sensory tables, and interacting with her friends and teachers.
Her vocabulary and conversation skills have grown exponentially. She is now speaking 5 word sentences. She learns at least one new word each day. She surprises us every day with a new phrase. Most of the time, it is something we said, which is so funny.

CeCe can work an iphone almost as well as I can. She knows how to unlock it, move through the screens, open albums and look at pictures ("play pictures momma"), open up her folder of games and play them. I always thought that I wasn't going to be one of those moms that gets their child a cell phone in elementary school, but it seems I have paved the way already.
For months upon months, Josh read to her just about every night and put her to bed. A few weeks ago, this all of sudden changed. Although it can be annoying at times, it is also very sweet and funny. Every night, it is now "momma readin'." If we say "no, daddy's gonna read," she says "nooo, momma readin'."

On that note, she still loves to read. She has piles and piles of books and gets them out on a daily basis. She likes to play with legos and still loves her Nana's jewelry. And she still has a shoe obsession. Her favorite character is Buzz Lightyear. We own all of the Toy Story movies and rotate them out weekly. She says "To finity be-ond!" (To Infinity and Beyond).
CeCe has pretty good eating habits. She will pretty much eat everything we eat. She doesn't get as many vegetables as she should but we're working on that.
Despite the "typical" 2 year old behavior, I really love this age and stage she is in. She is smart, funny, observant, gentle, and such a joy. I am really liking being able to communicate with her and her actually understand what I'm saying. She is such a big helper with Vivi and I look forward to seeing their friendship and relationship grow stronger.
I can't believe my girl is already 2!!!
CeCe's birthday crept up on us since we were so busy adapting to Vivi being here. But I think she had a wonderful time at her parties! They were Minnie (and Mickey) Mouse themed!
We ordered this Sing-a-Long with Mickey, Minnie & Goofy CD. It is personalized so they include her name in the songs!

This is CeCe listening to it for the first time!
