We are more than half way through the summer, which I don't want to think about too much. It's gonna be over before I know it. But it's been fun and here is a little of what we've been up to.
Before school ended I was really nervous about the summer. I knew that since CeCe had been used to a full schedule at school, and that's good for her, I was going to have to think of something to do to keep her occupied.....every day. And how was I going to do that and attend to Vivi's needs?
The first day was...well...terrible. I realized that my patience level was going to need some conditioning and it took a couple of weeks to get used to this new routine of not really having a routine. I tried to find a summer camp for CeCe to go to one or two weeks over the summer, but I couldn't find one that either took kids under 3 years, or was in my price range. So I gave up on that.
We were at Target one day and I decided to look in their "craft" section for something...anything. I found some preschool books of activities that I thought CeCe would like.
This is CeCe doing the Peel It, Snip It, Color It activity pages.
These are Cut It, Glue It, Color It!
It's snack time for Vivi while sister is working on her activities.
We've played outside with the Elmo sprinkler!
We went to Bradie's 2nd birthday party. These are the only pictures I have that I took from my phone.
We go on walks! Most of the time she walks one of her babies or her Minnie Mouse in the stroller, but I thought I would try something different this time. We got a couple of houses down before she was done with the sling. She didn't like it too much.
We go to the store and they ride in this. I LOVE these carts. It makes shopping so much easier for mommy.
These are my first two loaves of bread from my new (to me) bread makers I got for $8 total!
We ride the Mickey Mouse at Babies R Us, or the horse at Wal-Mart. She uses her own money for this.
In my attempt to look around our community for fun (free) things to do, I found a Juneteenth celebration hosted by the city. They had this bounce house, live music, hot dogs, hamburgers, and lots of snacks!
My family came over and we grilled burgers and hot dogs. Then the kiddos enjoyed some dippin' dots, cake and snow cones in the tree house! Fun times :)
These videos aren't very exciting, but it's a glimpse of what these sweet girls are like on a daily basis. They talk, laugh, play together, play alone, copy each other. They share toys and attention....sometimes! They annoy each other. They tolerate each other. When she's away, the other misses her. They learn together. They love each other.
CeCe learned the Pledge of Allegiance. After several takes, this was the final cut. She is a passionate American!
CeCe likes to cover Tony with blankets. He's such a trooper :)
It was a busy June, but a lot of fun :)
